Another Skirt Look – OOTD 10

I think I like wearing skirts more than jeans because I don’t have to worry about high waters lol (I am also obsessed with my jean jacket….

AHHH yes, fall is here, and so is my new revamped wardrobe (sike)…

There is seriously nothing like a black turtleneck with a Banana Republic skirt and a good ole jeans jacket. Another favorite outfit of mine that I just cannot stop thinking about. I felt so chic and feminine.

The colors in this outfit went so well. I was pulling solid colors from the skirt which had blue, black and white embellishments. What better way to make a matchy outfit than to add a black turtle neck and a jean jacket to bring an office look into a casual and sexy look!

Can’t wait to show you my next outfit !

Crop & Skirt – OOTD 4

Its the first day of summer ! Lets start with something bright, fresh and new..

One of my favorite outfits with a different take on crops and skirts. Bringing out a very cool and collected summer vibe, showing off some skin and a hint of brightness at the same time !

Top: Forever 21, Skirt: Michael Kors, Bag: Dot Reeder.

Styling Tips: Summer Time

  1. When styling a black & white stripe skirt, use colors that will also brighten or enhance the skirt. (red, burgundy, orange, yellow, light blue, green)
  2. Use a solid color with no designs to add a chic element to your outfit, and experiment on accessories: Long earrings, gold, silver, gemstones, etc.
  3. Neutral bags are always your best choice when pairing it to a color combo. You don’t want the accessories to over power the outfit, but add an extra element to be cohesive altogether.
  4. Since its summer time, shoes of choice would be a cute flip-flop or neutral colored sandals (clear, nude, skin toned, or matching the accessory colors).

keep it simple, keep it cool

3 Reasons Why I Cut My Hair

I love my hair and trying out different style, but this was becoming exhausting and time consuming…

I started experimenting with haircuts during the summer of 2018. It felt so good to make a change in my look. If you’ve followed my blog for awhile now, you noticed that I had long hair for quite some time.

Soon enough, I began going to the barber shop to cut the back and sides of my head (since I was not ready to cut my entire head of hair yet) all summer. I would also style it with braids and twists to still have less emphasis on the cut.

Here are Some Reasons Why I cut Everything Off:

  1. I was bored with my hair.
  2. I tried every natural hair style compatible with my hair type.
  3. I needed a change; I felt too insecure and used my hair as a hiding place.

At some point, we all must appreciate ourselves and find beauty in every aspect. However, for myself, I felt very insecure about my forehead, my face, my head shape and struggled with this for a long time. I decided to chop everything off my head using a pair of scissors and two mirrors and felt SO GOOD after that.

After the cut, I noticed that I am more confident when I walk around and meet new people, I do not have to worry about how my hair looks all the time, and I find it easier to manage.
